This necklace is strung with a collection of face beads and mosaic beads found in a single cache that I wished to keep together. The construction of the beads is unusual in that the glass canes appear to have been cut in slivers and then fused.
I believe that these are an attempt by the bead maker to replicate the early Roman beads and would have been made in the first millennia. ( 100 AD to 1000 AD ) Read more about the making of face beads on my musing
